VOCATIONS SUNDAY

VOCATIONS SUNDAY
In the Catholic Church, the Fourth Sunday of Easter, which is also the Good Shepherd Sunday is a day set aside for World Day of Prayers for Vocations, commonly known as Vocations Sunday/ Good Shepherd Sunday. This is the day the whole Church prays for Vocations and Contributes money for supporting all formation houses (Seminaries and Novicietes). The Pontifical Mission Society of St.Peter the Apostle, which is one of four Pontifical Mission Societies (PMS),is responsible for leading the promotion of this day and animation in preparation for a meaningful celebration of Vocations Sunday. However, the work of animation for the Vocations and preparation for the celebration of this day is the work of the whole Church guided by the leaders in every community.
